USA Today reports that Starz Digital Media, the digital and on-demand licensing arm of Starz Media, LLC, and Dimension Films announced that PIRANHA 3DD, the sequel to the surprise 2010 hit Piranha 3D, will be available on-demand and online the same day it hits theaters.
The Piranha 3DD theatrical release and VOD launch is the first Dimension Films release to venture into this new digital mass release model. This is the first collaboration between Dimension Films and Starz Digital Media, and the first ever available for a 3D movie. Piranha 3DD stars Katrina Bowden, Gary Busey, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames and David Hasselhoff, opens in theaters Friday.
