John Woo’s “The Killer” is getting an English-Language 3D Remake . John Woo is planning a 3D remake of his classic 1989 Hong Kong police action flick, “The Killer”. Essential entertainment and Lion Rock Productions revealed Korean director John H. Lee (A Moment to Remember) will direct the English-language remake.
John Woo’s “The Killer” was a highly stylized and very cool HK action flick and one of my favorites. John Woo’s incredible use of the high speed camera capturing the sideways tilted gun slinging Chow Yun Fat was one of the early HK action films that helped pave the way for John Woo becoming one of Hollywood’s great action directors. John Woo’s action sequences are poetry in motion and should be very cool in 3D. Nice addition to the upcoming 3D movie line up. I’ll post more when I get a production update.
