Red Bull Goes Big with 3D Oliver Twist!

Red Bull is an energy drink sold by Austrian Red Bull GmbH, created in 1987 by Austrian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz. FYI, a bit of movie trivia; Hollywood action fans Red Bull also sponsors the annual Taurus stunt awards. The Taurus awards are equlivant to the stuntmans academy awards.

Parkour, first captured the attention of US audiences in the Bond film Casino Royale, free running-building jumping in urban enviroments looked cool and worked thematically in the context of the Casino Royal storyline. Could be a pretty cool film adding a slick updated adrenaline twist to the classic Oliver Twist story.

Elememts of Parkour/free-running, building jumping have been used in films for decades…if captured correctly, meaning the right camera angles it looks amazing and most likely always makes the final commercial cut.

I spent almost two decades working on some of Hollywood’s biggest action films and I have to say I’ve jumped my fair share of buildings…but the hot young parkour athletes of today have taken the degree of difficulity up a few notches. Looking forward to more action movies in the 3rd dimension.

Variety says Twist will “center around the novel’s Fagin Gang, which will use the physical vaulting art of parkour to carry out a series of art thefts in the film.”

More when I get it.
