Warner Bros. is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the classic film, “The Wizard of Oz” by rereleasing it in 3D for one week. The limited engagement will play at IMAX 3D theaters only. Immediately following the 3D release Warner Bros Home Entertainment will release “The Wizard of Oz” collector’s edition box set. The limited and numbered collection will include 5 discs, a blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, DVD and UltraViolet digital version of the film.
The 5-disc set will retail for $105 and include a few collectibles, a 75th anniversary journal, ruby slippers globe, a map of Oz and a 48 page hardcover book. A two disc set is also in the works priced around $36.00 which includes a Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray. Prime Focus handled the 3D post conversion.
