The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 will be the first installment of the popular franchise to play in 3D when it opens in China. The film will open in China on February 8th of this
year. China will have both a 2D and 3D release unlike statesides 2D release only. 3D is seen as a premium format in China and the 3D format has proven to be incredibly successful at the box off overseas.
I have to say that 3D would be just as successful in the states if the filmmakers would not make their 3D movies so flat. James Cameron if you’re reading this, I know you’re pushing the next installments of the Avatar franchise back a bit…but I think filmmakers need another glimpse of how 3D should actually look. Guys look, if the audience members agree to wear the 3D glasses for 2 hours in the theaters give us something we can reach out and touch!
