3D Device for iPhone on Kickstarter

A new project called “Poppy” just launched today on Kickstarter. The Kickstarter project reached it’s goal of $40,000 on it’s first day out. “Poppy” turns your iPhone into a 3D video camera and 3D sharing device. A couple of tech savvy inventors out of Seattle
came up with the cool device that will allow the user to both capture and share 3D video and photos via your iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and the fifth generation iPod touch.

The device looks similar to the original 3D viewing device that we’ve all grown up with the “ViewMaster. The “ViewMaster” seems to have been part of the inspiration for the upcoming new “Poppy.” The device works by utilizing mirrors and optics in a clever and exacting way that will allow the user to simply view 3D video and photos through the viewfinder accompanied by your iPhone or 5th gen-ipod touch.
