Despicable Me 2 was numer one at the box office over the July 4th weekend. The 3D animated pic produced by Illumination and distributed by Universal earned a healthy $142.1 million over it’s first five days out easily beating out Disney’s The Lone Ranger. The Lone Rangers take for the weekend Friday -Sunday was a dismal $29.3 mil.
